Dayton, Ohio- The Cleveland State Cross Country team started the 2026 season Friday evening, racing at the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic hosted by Wright State. The 5k race had a total of 15 schools competing.

Grace Biddle from Northern Kentucky won the meet with a time of 17:57.4, and Layla Sahaydak from Ohio State was the runner up with a time of 17:57.7

Annabelle Crissman placed 11^th in the meet with a time of 18:42.6, which was the best time for the team.

Natalie Keller finished with a time of 19:33.7(35^th), with Kayla Crissman who finished 19:58.8 (44^th). Sage Colon finished a couple spots back with a time of 20:07.3 (51^st).

Freshmen Bailey Bechtel finished 94^th with a time of 21:47.6 and Reese Nolan who finished 97^th with a time of 21:58.1.
Aubrey Evans finished with a time of 22:13.1 to end the meet.

The Cleveland State Vikings finished in sixth place as a team to end the meet.
Up next the Green & White go to Cedarville, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Classic Friday  September 18^th, at 6:00 p.m.
