CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will close out its home slate this weekend, hosting Northern Kentucky and IU Indy at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.

Entering the weekend, Cleveland State stands at 11-10 on the year, and is coming off its bye week in the Horizon League schedule. During the first part of the #HLTennis slate, the Vikings earned a split against Northern Kentucky and IU Indy during the first week of regular season league play, and then also hosted YSU.
Through three Horizon League matches,
Lincoln Battle owns a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 singles, while Battle and
Carl Gedlitschka have posted a matching 3-0 mark at No. 1 doubles against league opponents this spring.
Battle and Gedlitschka earned a spot in the ITA Doubles Rankings last week, and currently sit at No. 67 among Division I doubles teams.
For the season, Gedlitschka owns a team-best 20 singles wins, one of six Vikings with double-digit singles wins on the year. Entering the weekend, Gedlitschka ranks sixth on the CSU Singles Wins List with 85 career victories, while he ranks fifth with 80 career doubles wins.
This weekend will be the final home matches for the senior quartet of
Devin Boyer,
Cole Chappell,
Carl Gedlitschka, and
Andrew Zimcosky.
Looking Ahead…
Cleveland State will close out regular season play at Youngstown State next Friday, and will be fighting for a spot in the Horizon League Tournament which runs April 24-26.
