DAYTON, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team got back in the win column Friday, picking up a 4-3 victory at Dayton.
The Vikings picked up the early doubles point on Friday, with
Ella Franz/
Melliz Petkova Mustafa earning a 6-2 win at the top of the lineup and
Anna Mancino/
Leah Geisz posting a 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot. Both tandems now have a team-best six wins on the spring season.
Dayton answered by picking up the first singles points on the day, before
Laura Tapia evened the match at 2-2 with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
Franz then gave the Vikings a 3-2 edge after picking up a three-set win at No. 2 singles (6-1, 4-6, 6-4), while
Jenna Redmile clinched the match for the Vikings with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 spot.
Cleveland State will be back in action on its annual spring break trip next week, traveling to FGCU on Wednesday, March 11.
