CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team is set to open its Horizon League slate this weekend, traveling to Northern Kentucky and IU Indy.

The Vikings enter Horizon League play with a 10-8 record on the year, most recently going 1-1 during their annual spring break trip. Cleveland State has won five out of its last seven matches, including a pair of sweeps over Findlay and Weatherford.
Earlier this season, the Vikings were selected to win the Horizon League North Division, picking up all four first place votes. Cleveland State returns three all-league honorees from last season, including reigning Player of the Year
Lincoln Battle.
Over the last five seasons the Vikings have gone 37-3 in Horizon League regular season matches, including perfect 8-0 campaigns three times (2024-25, 2023-24, 2020-21).
Entering the week, four Vikings have 15+ singles wins on the year, including
Carl Gedlitschka who has a team-best 20-9 record. This marks the second 20-win campaign for Gedlitschka during his CSU career.
In doubles, Gedlitschka and
Lincoln Battle own a team-best 14-7 record, while
Maxime Aremon and
Tristan Stine also have double-digit wins sitting at 11-5 this season.
Over the course of the spring campaign, the Vikings have picked up a league-leading five Singles Player of the Week honors along with a league-best three Doubles Team of the Week accolades, with Battle and Gedlitschka accounting for all of the awards.
