INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the first time this season, the Cleveland State men's tennis team has swept the Horizon League weekly awards, as Lincoln Battle was named the Singles Player of the Week and Battle/Carl Gedlitschka were named the Doubles Team of the Week.

This marks the third weekly honor for Battle, and the third weekly accolade for Battle and Gedlitschka as a doubles team.

Last time out, the Vikings went 1-1 on their annual spring break trip, including a 7-0 sweep over Weatherford that marked their third sweep of the season.

Battle went 1-0 at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-4, 6-1 win over Weatherford and playing an unfinished match against SMU. Battle now has 16 wins on the year, including nine this spring at No. 1 singles.

Battle and Gedlitschka went 2-0 at the top of the doubles lineup, picking up a 6-4 win against SMU and a 6-1 win against Weatherford. As a team, SMU held a No. 47 ranking at the time of Sunday's match against the Vikings.

The duo now has a team-best 13 wins on the year, including seven this spring.
