CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team got back in the win column Sunday, picking up a convincing 6-1 victory over Butler. With the win, the Vikings are now 9-7 overall this season.
The Vikings were able to pick up the early doubles point on Sunday, earning a 6-2 win from
Devin Boyer and
Tristan Stine at No. 3 doubles and a 6-4 victory at the top of the lineup from
Lincoln Battle and
Carl Gedlitschka.
Boyer then added to Cleveland State's lead with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5 singles, while
Nico Jamison put the Vikings up 3-0 following a 6-4, 6-3 win at the No.3 spot.
Gedlitschka notched the clinching point on Sunday, picking up a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles, while Battle tallied a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0(8) win at the top of the lineup to add the final point of the day for the Vikings.
The Vikings will be back in action when they take their annual spring break trip, traveling to SMU and UT Arlington in two weeks.
