CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out the weekend with a win on Sunday, picking up a 4-3 victory over Bowling Green.
Although the Vikings dropped the early doubles point,
Ella Franz and
Melliz Petkova Mustafa were able to pick up a 6-4 win at the top of the lineup, with the win making Franz the all-time leader on the Cleveland State Individual Doubles Wins List with 82 career wins.
Cleveland State picked up all four of its points during singles play, with Petkova Mustafa posting the clinching point in a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Franz also picked up a singles win on Sunday, earning a 7-5, 2-1, ret. victory at the No. 2 spot.
In addition,
Laura Tapia posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and
Leah Geisz earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the No. 6 spot.
The Vikings will be back in action with two matches next weekend, hosting Buffalo on Friday, February 27 and traveling to Ball State on Sunday, March 1.
