CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will continue its current homestand with two matches this weekend, hosting Western Michigan on Saturday, February 21 and Bowling Green on Sunday, February 22.

Last time out, the Vikings picked up their first win of the 2026 spring season, earning a 4-3 victory over St. Bonaventure. Against the Bonnies, the Vikings picked up points at No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 singles and the doubles point, marking the third time this season that Cleveland State has earned the doubles point.
With her straight-set win at No. 2 singles against St. Bonaventure last time out,
Ella Franz recorded the 50
th singles win of her career, becoming the 21
st Viking to reach the milestone.
Through the first part of dual match play,
Leah Geisz has a team-best four singles wins, while
Anna Mancino,
Jenna Redmile and
Laura Tapia all have two. In doubles, Mancino/Geisa have four wins to lead the Vikings, while
Ella Franz/
Melliz Petkova Mustafa have three.
Cleveland State is in the middle of a five-match homestand, as they are finally playing inside the MMTP after starting the season with six straight road matches. The Vikings will close out this current stretch next Friday, hosting Buffalo inside the MMTP.
