CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team split a pair of 4-3 matches Thursday, picking up a 4-3 win over Mercyhurst and dropping a matching 4-3 decision against UIC.
Devin Boyer led the Vikings with a 2-0 singles record on the day, including a three-set victory at No. 5 singles against UIC.
Also picking up singles wins against the Flames were
Carl Gedlitschka and
Cole Chappell, while
Nico Jamison and
Maxime Aremon both earned wins against Mercyhurst.
The Vikings were able to pick up the doubles point against Mercyhurst, with Aremon/
Tristan Stine picking up a win at No. 1 doubles and Gedlitschka/
Andrew Zimcosky earning a win at the No. 3 spot.
In addition, Chappell and Jamison also picked up a doubles win against UIC.
The Vikings will be back in action on Sunday, hosting Niagara and Findlay in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
