CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team was back in action Friday afternoon, picking up a 7-0 sweep over St. Bonaventure. With the win, the Vikings are now 4-2 overall this year.
In doubles, the Vikings got wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, with
Lincoln Battle/
Carl Gedlitschka posting a 6-0 win at the top of the lineup and
Devin Boyer/
Tristan Stine earning a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Boyer and
Cole Chappell picked up a pair of quick singles wins at the bottom of the lineup, before Battle clinched the match with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles.
In addition, Gedlitschka,
Maxime Aremon and
Nico Jamison all picked up singles wins on the day.
Battle improved to 5-1 this spring with his win at the top of the lineup, while Gedlitschka now has four wins during dual match play.
Cleveland State will close out the weekend on the road Sunday, traveling to Buffalo for a 1:00 p.m. match.
