CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team continued its spring slate on the road Friday, dropping a hard fought 4-3 contest at Cincinnati.
Cleveland State was able to pick up the early doubles point against the Bearcats, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. At the top of the lineup,
Ella Franz and
Melliz Petkova Mustafa earned a 6-2 win, while
Leah Geisz and
Anna Mancino posted a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot.
The Vikings were then able to pick up two singles wins on the night from Geisz and
Laura Tapia.
Geisz earned a 0-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) come-from-behind win at No. 6 singles, remaining perfect during the spring season.
Tapia earned her win at the No. 3 spot, notching a 7-5, 6-7(4), 1-0(8) victory.
Cleveland State will be back in action next weekend, taking on West Virginia (Saturday, January 31) and Temple (Sunday, February 1).
