CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team will be back in action with one match this week, traveling to Cincinnati on Friday, January 23.

Friday's match will be the second of six straight road matches for the Vikings to begin the spring season, as Cleveland State won't play at home until the middle of February.
Last time out, the Vikings opened the 2026 campaign at Eastern Michigan, with freshman
Leah Geisz picking up her first dual match singles win at the No. 5 spot. In addition, the doubles team of
Ella Franz and
Melliz Petkova Mustafa picked up a win at the top of the lineup.
With the doubles win in the season opener, Franz now has 78 career doubles wins to rank second on the CSU Individual Doubles Wins List.
The win also earned Franz & Petkova Mustafa Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week honors, with the duo picking up the first weekly accolade of the year for the Vikings.
Through the first week of the spring season, Geisz and
Jenna Redmile have a team-best six singles wins, while Franz and Petkova Mustafa each have five.
Looking Ahead…
The Vikings will host their home opener on Friday, February 13, welcoming Toledo to the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. This will be the first of nine home contests for Cleveland State this spring.
