CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team remained perfect in Horizon League play Sunday, picking up a 6-1 victory over Milwaukee. With the win, the Vikings are now 9-9 overall and 3-0 in #HLTennis play.
The Vikings were able to pick up the doubles point on Sunday, with
Ella Franz/
Tereze Vevere earning a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and
Jenna Redmile/
Filippa Frogner posting a 6-0 win at the No. 3 spot.
With their win at No. 2 doubles, Franz and Vevere are now tied for the CSU Doubles Wins Record, owning 63 wins as a doubles team.
Cleveland State then quickly extended its lead to 3-0 with a pair of singles wins from Vevere and Frogner, Vevere with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles and Frogner with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 spot.
Franz posted the Vikings' clinching point on Sunday, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Cleveland State added wins from Redmile at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2) and
Oihane Vicario at the top of the lineup (6-1, 7-6(4)).
Next up for the Vikings will be a roadtrip to Northern Kentucky (Saturday, April 12) and IU Indy (Sunday, April 13).
