CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team closed out its 2025 home slate Saturday, picking up a pair of 7-0 sweeps against Chicago State and Mercyhurst. With the wins, the Vikings are now 9-11 on the year and 5-0 in Horizon League play.
The Vikings picked up both doubles points on the day, including a pair of wins from
Lincoln Battle and
Devin Boyer at the top of the lineup.
In singles, Battle,
Carl Gedlitschka and
Nico Jamison all went 2-0 in complete matches on the day, while Boyer,
Cole Chappell and
Maxime Aremon all picked up wins against Mercyhurst.
Cleveland State closed out its home slate with an 8-3 record inside the MMTP, including a 4-0 mark against league opponents.
The Vikings will hit the road for two matches next weekend, traveling to Northern Kentucky and IU Indy.
