INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Vikings remained fourth after the second day of the Horizon League Championships with 196 points. Oakland took over the lead with 284 points, Milwaukee is second with 240 points, and Youngstown State is third with 201 points.
Grace Chelf defended her 50-yard freestyle championship in fashion as the junior clocked school record times in prelims and finals. Chelf started the morning with a time of 22.85 and then topped it in the evening with a 22.78.
Ana Sofia Sousa sprinted to a time of 23.41, placing her in sixth.
Giovanna Cappabianca placed third in the 200-yard IM after putting up a time of 2:03.11.
In the B-final of the 500-yard freestyle,
Madison Taker (5:00.91) was the runner-up with the eighth fastest time in school history.
In 1M diving,
Ellie Seiter placed fourth with a score of 257.85 and
Brooke Eichel came in sixth with a score of 256.50.
The evening concluded with Chelf,
Audrey Butcher,
Haley Palmer, and Sousa placing third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the fifth fastest time of 1:32.24.
The third day of the championships will feature the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 1M diving, and 400 medley relay.
