CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State improved to 3-2 on the year after toppling Calvin 221-79 on Senior Day.
Prior to the start of the meet, the Vikings recognized nine seniors:
Giovanna Cappabianca,
Brooke Eichel,
Kellsie Krisch,
Mackenzie Lipnick,
Amanda Paxson,
Ana Sofia Sousa,
Reagan St. Clair,
Madison Taker, and
Holly White.
Eichel won both diving events with a score of 251.48 in 3M and 265.65 in 1M.
Ellie Seiter was the runner-up in both with a score of 249.30 in 3M and 253.95 in 1M.
Grace Chelf won the 50-yard freestyle (23.05) and 100-yard freestyle (50.72).
Eva Smith was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke (57.05) and 200-yard backstroke (2:02.62).
Bella Caraballo won both distance events: 1000-yard freestyle (10:21.14) and 500-yard freestyle (5:03.97).
Cappabianca claimed the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.57) and 200-yard IM (2:07.90).
Audrey Butcher claimed the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.15) and 100-yard butterfly (55.64).
The 100-yard breaststroke went to Krisch with a time of 1:05.17.
The Vikings capped off the evening with a win in the 400-yard freestyle as Palmer, Chelf,
Kaelah Baccus, and Sousa finished in 3:27.67.
Both teams will head to St. Bonaventure for a dual meet on Friday, January 17 followed by a three-team meet on Saturday in Pittsburgh against George Mason and Duquesne.
