Cleveland State Women's Tennis Falls At Chicago State, 4-3

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Cleveland State women's tennis team dropped its first Horizon League match of the season Sunday, coming up short at Chicago State, 4-3. With the loss, the Vikings are now 10-9 overall this season and 2-1 in #HLTennis play.

After dropping the doubles point, the Vikings were able to even the score with a win at No. 1 singles, as Oihane Vicario picked up a 7-5, 6-4 victory at the top of the lineup.

Chicago State responded with wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, before Sima Heren put Cleveland State's second point on the board with a 7-6(2), 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot, putting the score at 3-2 Cougars.

The Cougars were then able to clinch the match with a win at No. 6 singles, while Ella Franz posted the final point of the day for the Vikings with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot.

Cleveland State will be back in action next weekend, hosting IUPUI on Saturday, April 13 and Northern Kentucky on Sunday, April 14.
