CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team finished play at the Viking Invitational Sunday, with
Cole Chappell finishing as the runner-up in the main singles draw.
Chappell, who finished with a 4-1 record on the weekend, earned a spot in the championship match after picking up a 7-6(1), 6-3 win over Butler's Patrick Joss in the semifinals.
In the finals, Chappell came up short in a 2-6, 6-2, 10-6 decision against Holy Cross' Perry Gregg.
Cleveland State will wrap up the fall season next weekend, traveling south for the Wake Forest Invitational Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 3.
