Cleveland State Women's Tennis Falls At Youngstown State, 5-2

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's tennis team opened up its Horizon League slate Saturday, dropping a 5-2 contest at Youngstown State.

The Vikings were able to pick up the early doubles point against the Penguins, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Sima Heren and Bethany Yauch notched a 6-1 win at the top of the lineup, while Ella Franz and Tereze Vevere earned a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot to clinch the point.

With the wins, Heren/Yauch and Franz/Vevere both notched their team-leading 11th doubles wins of the year, while Heren and Yauch now own a team-best 10-5 mark this spring.

Cleveland State's lone singles win came from Oihane Vicario at the top of the lineup, as she posted a 6-2, 6-3 straight-set victory against Youngstown State. With the win, Vicario is now even at 14-14 overall this season, while standing at 9-7 this spring.

The Vikings will continue Horizon League play next weekend, beginning with a 2:00 p.m. contest against Milwaukee on Friday, April 7 inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
