CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State finished eighth with 316 points at the 2023 Magnus Cup Invitational. Akron won the team title with 1,571 points, FGCU was second with 1,052 points, and Northern Colorado was third with 922 points.

Brooke Eichel scored 119.15 points in platform diving.

Madison Taker placed seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle after finishing with the ninth-fastest time in program history, 17:16.57.

The Green and White had nineteenth-place finishes in the 100-yard IM by Ella Ciez (59.81) and 200-yard backstroke by Kayla Brock (2:05.95).

Tess Walsh came in twentieth during the 50-yard butterfly, sprinting to a 26.00, and was thirteenth during the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:06.97.

Ana Sofia Sousa placed seventh in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking the seventh-fastest time in program history, 50.91. In prelims, Sousa had the fifth-fastest time in history, 50.86.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Kellsie Krisch came in seventh after touching the wall in 2:19.84. During the prelims, Krisch swam the fifth-fastest time in program history with a 2:19.28.

The Vikings ended the meet with an eleventh-place finish in the 400-yard medley as Taker, Grace Chelf, Haley Palmer, and Sousa finished in 3:32.18.

Cleveland State starts the second half of the season in Granville, Ohio with a double dual against Denison and UIndy on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 1 p.m.
