GENEVA, Ohio – The Vikings concluded the two-day A-10 Challenge on Sunday afternoon. The men placed fourth and the women came in fifth.

Paddy Johnston had the lone win on the day in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:50.78. Reno James came in third during the event with a 1:55.73.

Cleveland State opened the second day with a third through fifth-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with Jackson Nester (16:22.81), Jake Taulbee (16:31.47), and Spencer Tussing (16:34.86).

In the 200-yard backstroke, Nester (1:51.10) placed third and Johnston (1:52.16) came in fifth.

Tyler Schultze touched the wall in 2:09.21 during the 200-yard breaststroke, giving him a third-place finish.

Head Coach Hannah Burandt said, "We raced 130 races in 1.5 days. This weekend presented a massive and unique challenge to each swimmer and diver in our program, and we stepped up. I'm proud of the effort and excited to apply what we learned this upcoming week in training and against Toledo and Youngstown. Go Vikes!"
