Vasilescu & Lenoan Pick Up Wins As Vikings Fall To Youngstown State, 5-2

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team hit the road for the first time during Horizon League play Saturday, dropping a 5-2 match at Youngstown State.

Cleveland State was able to pick up its two points on a pair of singles wins from Miruna Vasilescu and Blanche Lenoan.

Vasilescu notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the top of the singles lineup over Youngstown State's Tamara Teufl, improving to a perfect 3-0 in Horizon League play. On the season, she now owns a team-best 7-2 singles record.

Lenoan's victory came at the No. 3 spot, as she earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lucia Zagar. The win marked her first during Horizon League play this season, while she now stands at 6-3 on the year.

Despite dropping the doubles point, the Vikings were able to pick up a win at the No. 3 spot, as Gaby Schoenberg and Bethany Yauch posted a 6-1 win in their first match as a tandem.

Cleveland State will wrap up the weekend series against the Penguins tomorrow (Sunday, March 21), with first serve set for 2:00 p.m.
