CLEVELAND, OH- The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming teams will be heading on the road this weekend for both squad's first league meet of the year against Green Bay.

Both the men and women are looking for a repeat from last season against the league opponent, as the men won 158-84 and the women won 137-106.

One week into the young season, Head Coach Wally Morton is happy with where the team is at progress wise.

"We're pleased that everybody is training very hard, as I always tell the team, win the practice, win the day," Morton said. "We've had a lot of outstanding practices, all teams at our level are training very hard right now."

That training has shown itself early on in competition as both the men and women had solid showings last weekend at the Dennis Stark Relays held at Notre Dame. The meet saw the women finish in a tie for second, with the men placing third.

For Morton, while he always wants a full out effort, for a league meet like this one the goals are bigger.

"We're going to try to perform to the best we can and try to win the meet," he said. "Winning is a lot more fun than almost winning."

The Vikings will look to get that win and start out the league schedule strong Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in Green Bay.
