DAYTON, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's tennis team won its sixth straight match with a 7-0 blanking at Dayton on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Vikings to 7-1 this season.
CSU won two of the three doubles matches, including an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles by Phil Orno and Ryan Hamning, as the Vikings took a quick 1-0 lead in the match.
The Vikings then won all six singles matches in cruising to the win.
"This was a great weekend for us to win two road matches and hopefully we can continue this streak that we are on," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We continue to gain more and more confidence every time we take the court and I am excited to see what this team can accomplish moving forward."
The Vikings are back in action for two matches in Milwaukee, Wis., next weekend, beginning with a 2:30 p.m. match against Villanova on Saturday (Feb. 20) before a 4:00 p.m. match at Marquette on Sunday (Feb. 21).
