GREEN BAY, Wis. - Berry Thompson set two pool records as CSU's men's swimming and diving team is now 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Horizon League after defeating Green Bay, 147-96, on Saturday (Oct. 23).

Thompson's records came in the 50 free (20.88) and the 100 free (45.70). The Vikings' Justin Kermack also came close to setting a Green Bay pool record of his own, winning the 200 fly in 1:52.39, narrowly missing the mark of 1:52.36.

"Berry's pool records are pretty amazing when you consider that Green Bay's pool has been around since at least the '60s," head coach Wally Morton said. "Berry and Justin's performances are even more amazing since they came so early in the season."

The men won every event but the 200 free, marking the second day in a row that the Vikings have come away victorious in all but one event. Cleveland State's win on Saturday after an equally impressive victory over Valparaiso the previous day.

"Given that's it's the beginning of the year, and that we were coming off a long road trip and that we just had a meet yesterday, I thought our swimmers turned in phenomenal performances," Morton said.

Cleveland State will be back in the pool next Saturday (Oct. 30) when the Vikings travel to Oxford for a meet with Miami at 2:00 p.m.
