Vikings Fall at Western Michigan, 6-1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Cleveland State's Catrine Bjerrehus picked up a win at No. 1 singles, but that was the only victory the Vikings could muster in a 6-1 setback at Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

CSU fell to 0-2 this season, while WMU improved to 2-1.

WMU took control of the match early on, winning all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. All three matches concluded 8-1.

The Broncos then won five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets. The only CSU victory came from Bjerrehus won defeated Emily Dudzik, 6-2, 6-4.

The Vikings will conclude their first week of spring play on Sunday (Jan. 24) with a 12:00 p.m. match at Michigan State.
