BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - CSU was swept by a Big Ten opponent for the second consecutive day, falling to Indiana 7-0. The loss moves CSU to a 1-2 record.
The Vikings took one of the doubles matches and were swept in singles competition. Senior Brad Groleski and junior Steven Wipprecht won at No. 2 doubles, defeating Michael McCarthy and Jai Yoon 8-5.
Sophomores Ryan Hamning and Phil Orno had the most success of the day in singles competition. Hamning fell to Phillip Eilers 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Orno lost to Thomas Richter 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
"We had a long weekend assistant coach Mark Barry said. "We learned a lot from this weekend and will take these lessons with us for the remainder of the season."
CSU returns to action at home on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 2:00 p.m. for a matchup against Xavier.
