LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two Cleveland State doubles teams won consolation matches and Robert Fox was eliminated in the "B" singles consolation bracket on the final day of play at the Louisville Invitational.
"This was a decent performance for us this weekend," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "I would have liked to have done a little better on Friday and had more player sadvance in the main draws, but I thought we came back and played well the last two days.
"Rob had a good chance in his semifinal match today, but he ran into a player who is playing as well as we have ever seen him. Still, he fought hard and gave us a good showing."
Fox, who had won a pair of consolation singles matches on Saturday, fell to Xavier's Brian Schubert, 6-2, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon to be eliminated in the consolation semifinals.
The fall team tournament schedule is complete for CSU with the Vikings closing fall play by sending several individuals to the ITA Regionals at the University of Minnesota later this week.
