CLEVELAND, Ohio - The CSU women scored their first three dual wins of the season and several Vikings posted season-best times on Friday (Nov. 10) at the Cleveland City College Meet at the Busbey Natatorium. After defeating three of their four opponents, the Vikings improve to 3-4 on the season.

"Obviously, it would've been nice to get the sweep, but we're happy with our night," head coach Mike Lehto said. "We had a lot of season-best times and even some lifetime bests."

Junior Lesley Jones was the only Viking to win an individual even, placing first in the 50 free with a time of :25.57, just ahead of freshman second place finisher Eileen Bringman (:25.97).

Senior Marianne Lionell and sophomore Sandra Bunker each garnered a second-place finish placed second in the 200 IM and 1,000 free, respectively. Bunker's time of 11:11.89 was less than a second slower than her top time of 11:11.17 set on Oct. 21.

Freshman Brittany McCann notched season-best times in the 500 free (5:35.20) and the 200 IM (2:25.37) while fellow Bringman did the same in the 100 back (1:04.27).

"Our younger swimmers and now making the adjustments and you can see their progress," Lehto said. "Our swimmers are turning into the forces we expect them to be at the end of the season."

The Vikings host in-state foes Wright State and Youngstown State at the Busbey Natatorium tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
