CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sophomore Marko Milenkovic won two events and swam the anchor leg for the winning 400 medley relay and the men's swim team marched to a season-opening 133-76 victory over Valparaiso on Saturday (Oct. 21) at the Busbey Natatorium.

Milenkovic helped CSU set the tone early by clocking 1:43.21 in the 200 free. Freshmen Stephen Grove and Todd Winchell each tallied points in the event, giving the Vikings an early 59-12 advantage.

Milenkovic blew away the field in the 100 free with a time of 46.71 to cap his performance.

"Marko definitely gave us an outstanding performance today," CSU head coach Wally Morton said. "He had some impressive splits in the medley relay which gave us a lot of momentum early."

Milenkovic certainly had a lot of help, as senior Bjorn Schantz won the 1,000 and 500 freestyle events and fellow senior Chris Dalman won both the one- and three-meter dives. Junior Dan Baiko finished second in both dives.

"Overall, I was very pleased with out performance," Morton said. "We swam really well given that we did eleven workout this week. We have been training with a lot of intensity."

The Vikings are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18 at UW-Green Bay.
