Entering the weekend Cleveland State is undefeated in its new on-campus home, owning a 1-0 record in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. Earlier this month the Vikings picked up a 4-3 victory over Akron in the first-ever match to be played in the MMTP, and will be trying to finish the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record in their new domicile.

Vikings Tabbed Fourth In Horizon League Preseason Poll
Earlier this season the Horizon League released its Women's Tennis Preseason Poll, with the Vikings tabbed to finish fourth. Cleveland State finished behind preseason favorite Youngstown State, UIC (2nd) and Detroit (3rd), while Milwaukee (5th), Wright State (6th), Northern Kentucky (7th), Oakland (8th), Valparaiso (9th), and Green Bay (10th) rounded out the poll. This is the fourth year that the league has released a preseason poll, with the Vikings earning a top-four selection in all four polls.

Cleveland State In Horizon League Play
Under head coach Brian Etzkin the Vikings own a 63-35 record in Horizon League regular season matches, including a 38-9 record over the past six seasons. Cleveland State has captured the Horizon League Regular Season title once (2014), and has recorded a program-best seven league wins four times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010).

Orange Closing In On 50 Wins
Entering the week, senior Mathilde Orange is just three wins shy of notching the 50th singles victory of her career. Orange, who currently has 47 singles wins, would become the 12th Viking all-time to record 50 career singles victories.

Scouting The Raiders
Wright State currently stands at 13-3 overall this spring, and has won two straight matches entering Friday's contest. Friday will mark Wright State's second Horizon League contest of the season, as the Raiders defeated Northern Kentucky (6-1) back in February.

Over the last 13 seasons Cleveland State has notched a 13-3 record against Wright State, including 10 straight wins entering Friday's match.

Scouting The Norse
Northern Kentucky, who is playing in its first season as a member of the Horizon League, enters the weekend with a 5-5 overall record and will begin the weekend at Youngstown State on Friday. The Norse enter the weekend on a two-match winstreak, picking up 4-3 victories against Morehead State and Dayton last time out, while they started Horizon League play last month, dropping a 6-1 match at Wright State.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams under head coach Brian Etzkin.
