Viking Quartet Posts Solid Marks At Sparky Adams Invite


BEREA, Ohio – Members of the Cleveland State cross country team competed in their first of three track meets Saturday afternoon, as Megan O'Keefe, Erin Pavick, Ashlyn Woods, and Katie Webb all participated in the Sparky Adams Invitational at Baldwin Wallace University.

Cleveland State's best finishes came from Woods in the 1500 meter run and Webb in the 5000 meter run. In the 5000 meter run Webb finished fifth with a time of 20:05.34, while Woods finished 10th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:17.81.

The Vikings had two participants in the 800 meter run, O'Keefe placing 14th with a time of 2:31.76 and Pavick placing 30th with a time of 2:50.68.

Pavick also ran in the 3000 meter run, finishing with a time of 11:33.28.

Cleveland State was also represented in the field events, as Woods competed in the high jump, posting a mark of 1.40m.

The Vikings will compete in their second track meet next weekend, taking part in the Ashland University Alumni Open on Saturday, April 26.
