EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team continued play at the ITA Midwest Regional Friday, finding success in a number of qualifying consolation singles matches.
Out of six consolation matches the Vikings were involved in Friday, Cleveland State picked up wins in five of them.
Victoria Bensimon was one of the Vikings to pick up a win, coming out on top of a 7-6, 6-3 decision. This victory marked the 57th of her career, putting her in a tie for ninth place on the CSU All-Time Singles Wins List.
Also picking up singles wins during consolation play were Princess Gbadamosi, Aleksandra Golawska, and Jana Schober, while freshman Blanche Lenoan posted her team-leading fifth singles victory of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 win.
Cleveland State also had three teams competing in the Main Doubles Draw Friday, with the tandem of Isabella Spindler and Golawska picking up the lone victory during the opening round. This duo posted a 9-7 victory over Horizon League opponent Youngstown State, before falling in the second to a seeded duo from Michigan.
