CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State University women's swimming & diving team opens dual action this weekend as it welcomes Horizon League foe Youngstown State.

The Vikings competed at Akron this past weekend, taking sixth place with 191 points. Senior Molly McNamara was named the Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week this week after she posted the fastest times in the League in both butterfly events thus far this season.
Junior Gabriella Marinelli posted the third-fastest time in the League this season in the 200 freestyle at Akron (1:56.08). She is also one of three Vikings, joining sophomores Lexie Kostelnik and Irena Weclawiak, who own a top-six time in the HL in the 500 freestyle after their performances at Akron.
Cleveland State has won dual meetings with Youngstown State in six of the past 10 years. However, YSU has won three of the past four matchups, including a 167-129 victory last season in Youngstown. Senior Ashleigh Bennett, Marinelli, McNamara, sophomore Gracyn McQueary and senior Cassandra Oltman all won individual events in last year's dual at YSU.
Youngstown opened its season this past weekend when it fell to Duquesne in dual action by just 12 points. The Penguins will host Oakland Friday evening before coming to Cleveland for their first road action of the season.
The CSU women's team will be remain at home next weekend as it joins the men's team as both programs host Xavier in dual action Saturday, Oct. 27.
