CLEVELAND, OH – The Vikings hosted the tenth annual CSU Open Saturday (Dec. 13) at Woodling Gymnasium.
The Vikings had wrestlers competing in most weight divisions and competed at very high levels. Nick Corba placed second in the 184 pound weight class in a 4-2 defeat in the championship round to unattached Travis McKillop.
Amon Willis had a good run in the heavyweight division by placing in the top 6 as he fell to Fletcher Miller from Indiana University in the semi-finals. Mike Kostandaras finished with four wins and finished in the top 8 at 133. Chas Busz, Nathan Wynkoop and Kanez Omar also had notable days. Ben Willeford and Riley Shaw did not compete.
The Cleveland State University Vikings will be back in action next week as they host Indiana University Saturday (Dec. 20) at Woodling Gymnasium. There will be a tumbler giveaway to the first 50 in attendance. Events will begin at 1 p.m.
